May 2021 – Global Employee Health and Fitness Month

A 5-Hour Workday?

May is Global Employee Health and Fitness Month. There are lots of ways that companies encourage their staff to get outside, get fit, and take care of themselves. Tower Paddle Boards took it to a whole new level by making the switch to a 5 hour workday. Their employees work 8am – 1pm and now receive 5% profit-sharing. The result? Employees have to be twice as productive while on the clock, but they make more money per hour and have more time to do what they want to do. The company is also snagging prime talent with this offering and increasing profits. It’s a true win-win!

Here’s how to make working less – work for everyone:

  1. Apply the 80-20 rule
  2. Shift to a production mind-set
  3. Nix the “always available” attitude
  4. Use Technology to boost efficiency
  5. Don’t restrict yourself to a 25-hour week

For more details about how Tower Paddle Boards made the switch to the 5-hour work week, you can read the full article here. Let us know if you’ve tried this with your employees and how it’s going!

We would like to thank the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. In honor of Memorial Day, our offices will be closed Monday, May 31st, 2021.
